Founded in 1996, the Young Riders Youth Cycling program was created to keep kids active and healthy during the snow-free months. The program promotes fitness, fosters friendships, encourages environmental exploration, and helps youth develop a sense of responsibility.
Once A Week Program

Classes meet once weekly over ten weeks. Participants register for a specific group based on age and ability and ride with the same peers and coaches all summer. This structure allows for steady progression in skills and fitness while creating a safe, consistent environment—drop-ins are not permitted unless arranged in advance. Riders also build lasting friendships through the season.
Class sizes are limited to 10 participants.

Week-Long Mountain Bike Camps
2025 Season: June 9 – August 15
Registration opens Thursday, March 27 at 7:00 a.m. MST -
Young Riders offers week-long mountain biking camps designed as an introduction or skill-building experience. Camps run Monday through Friday with 2-hour sessions for Pee Wee groups and 3-hour sessions for Beginner and Intermediate riders. A total of 19 camps are scheduled throughout the summer, focused on safety, technique, and fun.
Class sizes are limited to 10–12 participants.

Riders on 16" or 20" rims (no training wheels or coaster brakes)Focus: Basic trails, safety, turning, and braking

Riders on 20", 24", or 26" rims with gearsFocus: Beginner single-track, climbing, descending, and bike fit

Previous experience in Young Riders Intermediate or Advanced classes—or equivalent—is required.

The Devo Prep / Bridge Program is designed for 5th and 6th graders (ages 10–12) who have progressed beyond the Advanced Young Riders classes but are not yet eligible for the High School or Junior Mountain Bike Team. This program helps riders bridge the gap by introducing more advanced trails, technical skills, and the fundamentals of racing. Participation in Midweek races may be offered but is still to be determined.
